NEW YORK—Sarah Lawrence College student-athlete Nikos Efstratudakis (London, Ontario/American Community School of Athens) has been honored by the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as Men's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the period ending March 9, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Efstratudakis stepped onto the court for his first career matches and made an immediate impact on the Gryphon squad. For Sunday's HVIAC tri-match, he took over the role of setter and tallied 49 assists in two matches. Against St. Joseph's, he recorded his first double-double with 14 digs and 38 assists, the fourth most assists in team history. Efstratudakis totaled 19 digs, seven kills and three blocks on the week.

In addition, junior Ishaan Pujari (Bangalore, India/Inventure Academy) was named to the HVIAC weekly Honor Roll. Pujari led the Gryphon offense and defense, racking up 35 kills and 35 assists in three matches. In a five-set showdown with St. Joseph's, he recorded a program-record 25 digs while throwing down a season-best 25 kills. He also added four aces and two blocks for 40 points on the week.
