BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Emily Pressley (Columbia, Mo./Hickman) of the women's soccer team and
Varun Kelkar (Nagpur, India/Jenks) of the men's soccer team represented Sarah Lawrence College at the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C.
The NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum engages a diverse and dynamic representation of student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrators. Student-athletes selected to attend the forum return to campus with invaluable leadership skills, the experience of exploring the relationship between personal values, core beliefs and behavioral styles, and a thorough understanding of the NCAA as a whole, the different divisional perspectives and the valuable role of Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC).
"It was really great to be a part of the NCAA Leadership Forum this year, where discussion about social justice and topical issues was openly and respectfully facilitated," commented Pressley, a Skyline All-Sportsmanship Team honoree. "Being able to find common ground within the experiences we face as student-athletes, leaders, and individuals within communities was really beneficial and empowering."
