BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – After completing its best season in program history, the Sarah Lawrence women's soccer team was well represented on the Skyline All-Conference Teams, announced by the league office on Monday. The Gryphons placed four players on all-conference squads, while capturing two of four individual awards.

Kiley Ritter was named Skyline Rookie of the Year, while head coach Maurizio Grillo was named Skyline Coach of the Year in just his second season as the architect of the program.

Joining Ritter on the Skyline All-Conference First Team is senior captain Sophia Spralja, while sophomore Lauren Ashby and first-year Tiffany McBrayer garnered Second Team accolades.

The quartet played a strong role in the Gryphons scoring the second-most goals in the Skyline this season, combining for 43 of a team-record 55 goals and 30 of 39 assists.

Most importantly, they led the Gryphons to a team record nine wins and their first winning season in team history. Picked seventh in the Preseason Poll, Sarah Lawrence finished as the No. 4 seed, clinching a postseason berth for the first time in program history and a first round home playoff game for the first time in Sarah Lawrence Athletics history. The Gryphons won their first round playoff game over fifth-seeded St. Joseph's Brooklyn before falling to conference champion and nationally ranked Farmingdale State in the semifinals.

Ritter is the first Gryphon in team history to be crowned Skyline Rookie of the Year. The first-year started all 17 games in 2018, and turned in the top offensive campaign in school history, setting team records for points (45) and goals (20) in a single season. A three-time Skyline Rookie of the Week honoree, her numbers easily topped the Skyline and ranked among the best in NCAA Division III, as Ritter ranks No. 10 in goals, No. 14 in goals per game (1.18) and No. 16 in points per game (2.65). Ritter found the back of the net in 10 games, turning in multi-goal performances six times, highlighted by a school-record four hat tricks.

Spralja caps off an incredible three-year tenure with all-conference accolades for the first time in her career. The senior captain was sensational in her final run with the Gryphons, tying McBrayer for a league-leading 11 assists while scoring a career-high seven times for 25 points. She started every game, recording a goal and/or assist nine times. She notched her first-ever hat trick in the squad's win at Brooklyn, and scored a pair of goals while handing out three assists in a victory over Yeshiva.
Spralja graduates Sarah Lawrence as one of the top playmakers in school history. In 45 career games, she leaves ranked No. 1 in points (49), No. 1 in assists (23) and No. 3 in goals (13).

McBrayer made a terrific 1-2 combo with Ritter in 2018. The rookie scored 13 goals and handed out a league-leading 11 assists for 37 points, the fifth most points in the Skyline and the second most among first years. A Skyline Rookie of the Week recipient, McBrayer started all 17 games, scoring and/or handing out an assist in 12 matches, including the final four contests of the year. She recorded three assists in a pair of wins, and has two multi-goal efforts, including scoring both goals in the team's 2-0 playoff victory over the Bears. She scored the lone goal for the Gryphons in their semifinal loss, becoming the first player in team history to score against Farmingdale State.

Ashby earns all-conference honors for a second straight year following a solid sophomore season, becoming the first-ever Gryphon with multiple all-league citations. She started 15 games, finishing with three goals and three assists for nine points. Ashby scored in wins over York and Maritime, and handed out assists in victories over Pratt and Brooklyn.

Grillo, joined on the sideline this season by Dolares Diemicke, becomes the second head coach at Sarah Lawrence to ever win Skyline Coach of the Year honors, quickly transforming the women's soccer program in his first two seasons. Grillo has compiled 14 wins, including eight victories against Skyline opponents, the most of any coach in team history. Under his guidance, the Gryphons have earned five all-league selections, the first five in team history. Sarah Lawrence has improved its totals in wins, conference victories and goals each season under Grillo.
