NEW YORK—Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball player Greg Smith (Tampa, Fla., Gaither) has been named to the 2012-13 All-Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Team, as announced by the league on Sunday.

Smith, a junior transfer from University of South Florida, made an immediate impact on the Sarah Lawrence team in just his first season as an intercollegiate basketball player. With two games left on the schedule, Smith leads the squad with 11.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

Despite missing five games due to injury, Smith also leads the Gryphons in blocks and steals on the year. His shooting percentages from the field, beyond the arc and from the foul line are all best on the team.

Sarah Lawrence concludes its season on Saturday when the Gryphons will compete in the 10th Annual Click Invitational, hosted by Landmark College. The Green and White will face the host Landsharks at 10 a.m. before playing their final game of the season at 2 p.m. or 4 p.m.
