Andre Garibaldi was selected as one of two SLC Newcomers of the Year, as presented by Director of Athletics Kristin Maile at the department's annual athletics banquet on May 4.

Garibaldi made contributions to the men's basketball and men's tennis teams this year. On the hardwood, he played in all 25 games and took over a starting center role late in the season. He averaged 2.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 12.6 minutes per game. On the tennis court, Garibaldi played in all 13 of the team's matches, ascending the lineup from the No. 4 to the No. 2 singles position. He recorded eight wins in his rookie season.

Garibaldi was also a dedicated member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in his first year.
