Penna put on a power-hitting display in the Gryphons' lone contest of the week – an 8-0 shutout victory over John Jay College. The first year Gryphon hit 3 for 4 with two doubles, her first career home run, two runs scored and three runs batted in. Penna slugged 2.000 on the evening, and her final hit of the day was a two-run walk-off double over the Bloodhounds. To date, Penna leads the team in runs (18), doubles (four), triples (four) and stolen bases (five). For her efforts, she was named Skyline Rookie of the Week.
