Hannah Lawson was named 2016-17 women's swimming MVP and was also named Metropolitan All-Academic. Lawson was Skyline champion and First-team Skyline All-Conference (100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke) as well as Second-team Skyline All-Conference (200 freestyle, 200 medley relay, 400 freestyle relay). Lawson swam in all 12 meets, scoring team-high 476.75 points. She broke own team records in 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley while contributing to four team relay records. Lawson posted 13 individual-event victories in dual-meet action, including undefeated in dual-meet breaststroke events. At SLC Sprint Carnival, she won 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 200 medley relay and 200 free relay (Oct. 29). Lawson broke own team record twice in same day in 200 individual medley (Dec. 2) and did the same in the 200 breaststroke (Dec. 4) at TCNJ Invitational; she finished as Champion in both breaststroke events. Lawson was Skyline Conference champion (100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke), runner-up (200 freestyle, 200 medley relay, 400 free relay) and place winner in 200 individual medley (Jan. 27-28). She became Metropolitan Swimming Conference Champion in 200 breaststroke, runner-up in 100 breaststroke and place winner in 200 individual medley (Feb. 17-19). Lawson was a three-time Skyline Swimmer of the Week and four-time CollegeSwimming.com Conference Swimmer of the Week. Lawson finished the season nationally-ranked in 100 breaststroke (49th) and 200 breaststroke (30th).
