Graham Gilleran was named 2016-17 men's basketball MVP. A co-captain, he played in 25 games, making 24 starts. In the final game of his career, he became program’s first player to reach 1,000 points, finishing with total of 1,002. Gilleran took over as career record holder in total rebounds (532), assists (174) and steals (91). He tied his career-high with five assists against Farmingdale State (Jan 21) and tied own team record with five blocks vs Merchant Marine (Feb. 8). Gilleran matched his career high with five three-pointers at Purchase (Feb. 11). He scored season-high 18 points and matched season-best with nine rebounds in finale against Mount Saint Mary (Feb. 18). Gilleran finished his career with team-record 134 blocks, including the top four totals for blocks in a season; he also ranked No. 2 in career three-point field goals (92), No. 2 in career free throws made (174). Gilleran reached 10 points or more in 12 games, totaling team-record 51 career games with double-digit scoring. He was twice named to the Skyline Honor Roll.
