On Saturday, Juliet Slade earned the title of 2013 HVIAC Women's Tennis Champion, as she and partner Autumn Atkinson won their bracket, playing at No. 3 doubles.
Slade and Atkinson cruised to their championship match, dropping only one game in semifinal play.
The last match on the courts featured a neck-and-neck contest with the Gryphons and their second-seeded opponents from Pratt. The Cannoneers took an early 2-1 lead before the Gryphons took control at 4-3. At 6-5, Pratt won back-to-back games and looked to serve for the win, up 7-6.
With the win, Slade and Atkinson finished the year with a perfect 15-0 record as a partnership.
