Frank Fanning was named Head Coach for women's tennis in 2011. Fanning also served as the men's tennis Co-Head Coach in 2012. The 2017 season is his seventh at the helm of the women's team.

Fanning's women's tennis teams have won 36 matches, the most of any coach in the program's history stretching back 25+ seasons.

In his first season, Fanning led the Gryphon women to a runner-up finish at the 2011 HVWAC Championships. The team won four championship flights, and finished 6-4 on the season.

The Gryphon women repeated as HVWAC runners-up in fall 2012, winning one tournament flight with a 6-4 overall record and a 3-1 ledger in league play.

The 2013 season saw SLC finish second in the conference for the third-straight year. After a 7-7 regular season, three Gryphons captured HVIAC Championships, including undefeated doubles pair Autumn Atkinson and Juliet Slade, who were later named SLC Newcomers of the Year.

In 2014, the women's team made its debut in the Skyline Conference. The Gryphons picked up seven wins and Autumn Atkinson became the first-ever SLC student-athlete to receive All-Skyline honors.

The 2015 season saw the Gryphons qualify for their first Skyline Championship tournament, earning the No. 4 seed after posting a winning regular-season conference record. Autumn Atkinson received first-team all-conference honors, while Juliet Slade was named to the second team.

In his first seven seasons (six of women, one of men), Fanning's Gryphons have collected ten All-Conference and 15 All-Academic accolades.

Fanning brings over 20 years of coaching and teaching experience. A native New Yorker, Fanning is a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional, who has worked at tennis clubs and resorts throughout the country, including the prestigious Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla. and The Vintage Club in Indian Wells, Calif. He also serves as the Tennis Director at Tarry Crest Swim and Tennis Club in Tarrytown, N.Y., during the summer months and at Eagle Creek Country Club in Naples, Fla., during the winter.
