BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—By the thinnest of margins, Sarah Lawrence College women's tennis pulled out a victory over non-conference opponent York College (N.Y.), 5-4, at Andrews Tennis Courts on Saturday. With the win, Sarah Lawrence (4-2) has now triumphed in its last three outings, while York (2-4) has lost back-to-back matches.
In doubles action, Sarah Lawrence's top pair, sophomore
Kayla Pincus (Shaker Heights, Ohio, Shaker Heights) and first-year player
Nora Landes (Los Angeles, Calif., Cleveland/Humanities Magnet), cruised to an 8-2 win to put the first point on the board. York's Nikita Ramsay (Brooklyn, N.Y./HS for Business Enterprises) and Maleeka Chin (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka) evened the match with their 8-3 win in the No. 2 doubles position.

Lane Garber (Los Altos, Calif., Los Altos) and her sophomore partner
Mary Kairidi (Thessaloniki, Greece, Anatolia College) regained the Sarah Lawrence lead by wrapping up the final doubles match, 8-2.
With the Gryphons in front 2-1 after doubles action, Garber added another Sarah Lawrence point with a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the No. 5 singles match. In her first collegiate match of the season, Kairidi picked up her second win with a 7-5, 7-5 triumph in the No. 6 match.
York stole the No. 4 match, as Ramsay pulled out a 7-5, 7-5 win to cut the Sarah Lawrence lead to 4-2.
Landes clinched the match for Sarah Lawrence with her victory in the No. 1 singles match. After picking up a 6-2 first set, she duplicated the effort in the second set to earn the match-clinching point.
The Cardinals rounded out the match, as York's Chin and Anna Ko (Elmhurst, N.Y./Newtown) earned victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 slots, respectively.
Sarah Lawrence is set for its final home match of the season on Sat., Oct. 6, when the Gryphons host Pratt Institute on Andrews Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
