Box Score STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College women's soccer lost to undefeated College of Staten Island, 8-0, in a non-conference game at the CSI Sports & Recreation Center on Thursday.

Staten Island (12-0-1) jumped on the scoreboard in the fifth minute, when Samantha Wysokowski evaded the final Gryphon defender to net the game's first goal. CSI followed with a goal by Demi-Jean Martorano in the 11th minute, and a socre by Melissa Gleardi in the 14th minute.

The Dolphin offense kept up the offensive pressure, as Wysokowsi headed in a corner kick in the 23rd minute. Martorano rounded out the first-half scoring with a 33rd-minute goal for a 5-0 advantage.

For Sarah Lawrence (1-8), Auden Hargrove (Los Angeles, Calif./South Bay Faith Acad.), Kaylen Dornan (San Diego, Calif./High Tech High International) and Elle Blanchet (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) were all able to pull the trigger and register shots. Making her first career appearance between the pipes, SLC goalkeeper Sofie Jokela (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) notched three saves in the first half.

In the second half, Martorano tallied another pair of goals, scoring in the 56th and 76th minutes. Natalie Tombasco also got on the scoresheet with a score in the 58th minute.

Gryphon Sadie Zavgren fired two shots in the second half with one on-frame. Sophomore Bri Solo debuted in goal, recording three saves in the last 45 minutes.

Sarah Lawrence is back in action on Saturday. The Gryphons travel to Rutgers University-Camden for a noon game.
