BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—After a rainy two-week hiatus, Sarah Lawrence College women's tennis returned to Andrews Courts to sweep York College (N.Y.), 9-0, in a non-conference match on Friday.
Sarah Lawrence (7-6) retook its winning record in dominant fashion, yielding just five games across nine matches to York (1-12).
In doubles, senior
Kayla Pincus (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) and rookie
Sofia Reh (Villanova, Pa./Radnor) took care of the No. 1 match. Sophomores
Juliet Slade (St. Paul, Minn./Central) and
Caroline Harrison (Galloway, N.J./Absegami) partnered for the first time in their careers, winning at No. 2 doubles. At No. 3 doubles, sophomores
Sarah Pyatt (Taos, N.M./Taos) and
Moni Spancheska (Skopje, Macedonia/NOVA International) picked up their first victory as a partnership. All three pairs won by an 8-0 margin.
Individually, Pincus faced a challenge at No. 1 singles but came out on top, 10-5. Reh improved to 4-0 at No. 2 singles with a 10-0 win, while Pyatt picked up her team-leading ninth win of the season, 10-0, at No. 3 singles.
The No. 4 match saw Slade win her second straight match, 10-0, and Harrison swept the No. 5 match for her first victory in the position this season. Spancheska rounded out the lineup, winning 10-0 to improve to 4-3 in the No. 6 slot.
Sarah Lawrence concludes the 2014 season by hosting Skyline rival Purchase College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
