FLUSHING, N.Y.—In the Gryphons' final Skyline match of the season, Sarah Lawrence College was edged by St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 5-4, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Tuesday. The loss snaps a streak of 12 consecutive wins against St. Joseph's in a series dating to 2004.

Juliet Slade (St. Paul, Minn./Central) earned the Gryphons' first singles point, winning the No. 2 match, 6-1, 6-2. The victory was Slade's second Skyline singles win of the season. Li earned her first conference victory by winning the No. 4 singles match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. In the final match on the courts, Spancheska triumphed at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-3; she leads the team with four singles victories this season.
The victory over Sarah Lawrence is the first for St. Joseph's in the all-time series, snapping a 12-match streak dating back to 2004. The last eight previous meetings had Sarah Lawrence winning by seven-point margins or better.
