BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Despite a comeback win by senior
Sarah Pyatt (Taos, N.M./Taos), Sarah Lawrence College women's tennis was overcome by Bard College, 8-1, in a non-conference match at SLC Courts on Tuesday.

Bard broke open an early lead after sweeping the three doubles matches. In individual play, senior
Juliet Slade (St. Paul, Minn./Central) forced a tiebreaker in the opening set of the No. 3 singles match. Neither player led by more than two points in the race to seven, and though Slade had three set points, her Bard opponent narrowly won and went on to take the match, 7-6 (11-9), 6-2.
Pyatt's triumph came in the No. 2 singles match. The senior Gryphon stumbled in the first set but rallied in the second set, yielding an early break point before winning, 6-4. In the super-tiebreaker third set, Pyatt trailed early, 2-1, before inning six of the next seven points for a 7-3 advantage and clinched the match, 3-6, 6-4, (10-4).
Of the remaining Gryphons, No. 6 rookie
Molly Rosenblatt (San Antonio, Texas/Tom C. Clark) had the most successful outing, winning four games in an 8-4 pro-set defeat.
