Box Score YONKERS, N.Y.—In the Gryphons' 2016 home opener, Sarah Lawrence College women's soccer was blanked by The City College of New York, 3-0, in a non-conference game at Tibbetts Brook Park on Sunday.

KEY MOMENTS
After CCNY scored early, Sarah Lawrence responded with an offensive attack in the eighth minute. Rookie Jordynn Figueroa (Gresham, Ore./Gresham) served up a corner kick, and sophomore Sophia Spralja (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente) pulled the trigger on a shot that was saved by the Beavers' keeper. The Gryphons forced back-to-back corner kicks later in the period, and both Figueroa and rookie Phebe Macrae Corcoran (Tivoli, N.Y./Putney School (Vt.)) recorded shots on goal. Spralja totaled three shots in the game, and rookie defender Emily Pressley (Columbia, Mo./Hickman) also tallied a shot. Making her debut, rookie goalkeeper Rachell Mosquera (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) had six saves in the game.

Three different Beavers scored in the game, including Marissa Olsen who scored the game-winner and later made an assist.

Sarah Lawrence travels to Purchase College on Tuesday before returning home to face College of Saint Elizabeth in the second leg of a home doubleheader on Saturday.
