TROY, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College women's tennis was defeated by The Sage Colleges, 9-0, in a Skyline Conference match at Prospect Park on Sunday.

Lena Labayen (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) won six games in their match, while at No. 2 seniors
Juliet Slade (St. Paul, Minn./Central) and
Moni Spancheska (Skopje, Macedonia/NOVA International) also won half a dozen games before falling, 8-6. In the No. 2 singles match, Labayen forced a 5-5 tie in both of her sets but was on the losing side of a 7-5, 7-5 defeat. At No. 3, Slade won five games in the second set of her 6-2, 7-5 match, and Spancheska won five games in her No. 4 singles match.

Sarah Lawrence women's tennis returns to Bronxville for a pair of home matches next weekend. The Gryphons host College of Staten Island on Friday at 6 p.m. before hosting Skyline rival Yeshiva University on Sunday at noon.
