IN SHORT
Lehman (4-3) def. Sarah Lawrence (2-5), 3-1.
KEY MOMENTS
Rookie
Eva Horstman (Edina, Minn./Edina) recorded the Gryphons' first shot of the game, but her 25-yard direct kick sailed over the crossbar high and out of play. Lehman scored the only goal of the first half in the 12th minute of the game. In the 30th minute, a Gryphon drive was broken up by a hard Lehman foul, bringing a flash of yellow and a direct kick for Sarah Lawrence just outside the penalty area. Spralja was selected to take the kick, but her high shot was collected by LC keeper Linda Resto. Spralja had two more shots early in the second half, but the Lightning increased its lead to 3-0 by the 58th minute.
Spralja finally capitalized in the 62nd minute. Rookie
Jordynn Figueroa (Gresham, Ore./Gresham) fed a through pass up the middle from the backfield. Spralja collected the pass behind the Lehman back line and drove the final 35 yards to send home her fourth goal of the season. Lehman held the Gryphons' without a shot for the remainder of the contest; SLC keeper
Rachell Mosquera (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) finished the day with six saves to her name.
