BRONX, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College women's tennis began the 2016 season with a 7-2 loss to Lehman College in a non-conference match at APEX Tennis Courts on Saturday.

KEY MOMENTS
Senior Moni Spancheska (Skopje, Macedonia/NOVA International) dominated her match at No. 5 singles. The Gryphon won her opening set, 6-2, before running the table in the second set, 6-0. In her collegiate debut, rookie Lena Labayen (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) also won in straight sets by taking the No. 4 singles match, 6-4, 6-2.

FOR LEHMAN
No. 1 Sacha Espirtu won matches in both singles and doubles, while No. 2 Lynessa George also won both matches, including an 8-0 doubles win.

UP NEXT
Sarah Lawrence returns to action on Saturday when the Gryphons travel to Mount Saint Mary College. The team will venture to Skyline foe Sage Colleges on Sunday.
