YONKERS, N.Y. – Mount Saint Mary defeated Sarah Lawrence by a 4-0 score Sunday evening at Tibbetts Brook Park.

KEY MOMENTS
Sarah Lawrence put up a strong defensive effort for most of the first half, as the Knights peppered the Gryphons with shots throughout the opening frame.

Mount Saint Mary got on the board in the 41st minute, when Alexa Franceschi knocked in a goal off a service from Allison Jones. Franceschi scored again 49 seconds later, flicking in a header following a scramble in the box.

In the second half, Jones found the back of the net after blasting a shot from 35 yards out, and later assisted on a goal to Nicolette Wurglics in the 72nd minute.

It was a busy evening for goalkeeper Madison Mertsch (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman), who posted 11 saves in the contest.
