KING'S PARK, N.Y. – In the final race before the Skyline Championships, the Sarah Lawrence women's cross country team finished fourth among 18 schools at the St. Joseph's-L.I. Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park.
TOP GRYPHONS
In a field of 167 runners in the 5,000-meter race,
Rosa Mykyta-Chomsky (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends School) finished 17th, crossing the finish line in 21.30.
The next three runners for Sarah Lawrence each finished among the top-40 of the field.
Jemma Fisher (Northampton, Mass./Northampton) placed 26th in 22:04, followed by
Tiffany Meier (Goleta, Calif./Olive Grove Charter) (35th, 22:39) and
Katie Shepard (Visalia, Calif./Mount Whitney) (40th, 22:52).
Katherine Labadie (New Orleans, La./Benjamin Franklin) (68th),
Lea Perry (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) (69th) and
Janey Bombara (Newtown, Mass./Newtown North) (70th) rounded out the Gryphon runners that placed in the top half of the race.
Sarah Lawrence, coming off a first-place finish at the York Invitational last weekend, finished with an overall score of 152, ahead of Skyline programs Mount Saint Mary (175), Mount Saint Vincent (206), Maritime (265) and Old Westbury (414).
