BRONXVILLE, N.Y. The Sarah Lawrence women's swimming team won eight events in Saturday's tri-meet against Maritime and St. Joseph's Long Island at Campbell Sports Center.
GRYPHON VICTORIES
Caitie Adler (Pikesville, Md./Wilde Lake) was the top swimmer in the 200 yard freestyle, touching the wall in 2:22.65, while taking first-place in the 100 yard butterfly (1:15.45).
For a third consecutive meet,
Naima Mackrel (Woodstock, N.Y./Kingston) was the top performer in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.64. She was also victorious in the 100 yard backstroke with an effort of 1:01.96.
Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School) won a pair of races, including the 200 yard IM (2:27.31) and 100 yard breaststroke (1:14.61).
TOP GRYPHON PERFORMANCES
Devon Peal (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) was the runner-up in the 1,000 yard freestyle (12:35.03) and 500 yard freestyle (6:04.15), while
Andrea Corbin (Eugene, Ore./Henry D. Sheldon) and
Elizabeth Kroll (Sacramento, Calif./The Met Sacramento) finished second and third, respectively, in the 100 yard freestyle.
GRYPHON RELAYS
In the 200 yard medley relay, a quartet of Mackrel, Lawson, Adler and Peal finished in first-place in 2:02.26. Sarah Lawrence was also victorious in the 200 yard freestyle relay, completing the race in 2:00.05 with a group comprised of Kroll, Corbin,
Kaitie Dilan (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) and
Olivia Hoefling (Sarasota, Fla./Sarasota).
