BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision Saturday to Skyline opponent Maritime at Bronxville High School.

IN SHORT
Maritime (8-2-1, 2-0) def. Sarah Lawrence (4-6-0, 0-2), 5-0.

KEY MOMENTS
The Privateers scored two of their five goals in the opening period. Harry Colucci put Maritime on the board in the sixth minute, chipping in a shot during a scramble in the box. Neil Dillon scored in the 42nd minute, flicking in a header to the far post.

In the second half, Parker Gallt scored in the 55th minute, finding the back of the net off a long throw-in from Joe Merendino. In the 75th minute, Merendino sent another throw-in to the box, bouncing off a Gryphon defender and into the net. The Privateers' final score of the game came in the 78th minute, when Anthony Sblendorio knocked in a header off a cross from Colucci.

Sarah Lawrence had several great opportunities for a goal, putting nine attempts on frame. Goalkeeper Mehran Hicks (Hartsdale, N.Y./The Masters School) finished with seven saves.

The Gryphons return to the pitch Tuesday (Oct. 3) at Mount Saint Mary.
