Men’s Cross Country Post Season-Best Runs at NJIT Highlander Challenge

NEWARK, N.J. – The Sarah Lawrence men's cross country team finished 18th among 31 squads on Saturday at the NJIT Highlander Challenge at Branch Brook Park.

RECAP
Competing against Division II and III programs, Zack Roccaforte turned in his best performance of the season. The senior was the squad's No. 1 runner, crossing the finish line in 28:35, fifth-fastest among all Skyline participants (Farmingdale State, St. Joseph's L.I. and St. Joseph's Brooklyn) on the day.

Shin Narita set a new personal-record, completing the 8K course in 29:44, now the fourth-fastest run in team history.

For a third consecutive race, Mario Jerez has improved his time on an 8K course. On Saturday, the first year finished the race in 31:21, a two second improvement from last weekend. Nathaniel Gabor finished the race in 33:44, his best run of the year.

Michael McCabe had his best performance of the season, completing the course in 35:48, while Alex Reith crossed the finish line in 43:20.

Sarah Lawrence has one last race before the Skyline Cross Country Championships. The Gryphons will compete again on Oct. 13 at the 19th Annual St. Joseph's Invitational.
