RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence men's soccer team was defeated 5-0 Tuesday in a non-conference match with NYU at Gaelic Park.

RECAP
NYU, ranked No. 9 in the East region, scored two goals in the first five minutes of the game. Dano Alexander scored the first goal, finishing to the upper corner off a cross from Oliver Kleban. 38 seconds later, Kleban scored off a pass from Alexander.
The Violets, coming off a 3-0 win at No. 21 Case Western, added three more goals in the second half. Maxi Rodriguez gave NYU insurance in the 71st minute, followed by a score from Sergio Monton in the 78th minute. Robert Shellow found the back of the net in the 86th minute off a deflection.
Sarah Lawrence put all six of its shots on frame, including an attempt from
Mohamed Camara in the 84th minute that sailed wide.
Aaron Ashery and
Matteo Romano split time in net, combining to make 12 saves. Despite giving up goals, the rookies made several difficult stops in the contest.
