Ritter Scores in 2-1 Loss at Lehman

BRONX, N.Y. – Following a 10-day layoff, the Sarah Lawrence women's soccer team returned to the pitch on Tuesday for a non-conference match at Lehman. Kiley Ritter found the back of the net for the Gryphons, but it wasn't enough, as the Lightening held off Sarah Lawrence for a 2-1 verdict at Lehman's South Field.

Lehman (2-0-1) def. Sarah Lawrence (1-1-0), 2-1.

RECAP
Coming off a two-goal performance in the Gryphons' season-opening 6-0 win over York, the rookie scored her third goal of the season 4:03 into the match. Sophia Spralja sent a free kick into the box, where Ritter collected the loose ball and ripped a shot past the goalkeeper to give Sarah Lawrence a 1-0 advantage.

The Lightening, coming off a 3-1 win over Maritime, scored the equalizing goal in the 37th minute, when Daisy Gomez scored off a cross from Marissa Soriano. Lehman took the lead for good right before halftime, when Emily Herrera blasted a shot just outside the 18-yard box to the far post.
