NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence women's soccer team suffered a 6-0 setback Saturday against Mount Saint Mary at Kaplan Field.

Mount Saint Mary, picked second in the Skyline Preseason Poll with six first-place votes, scored three goals in the opening half of play. Alexa Franceschi scored the game's first goal in the 26th minute, ripping a shot from the top of the box and into the netting. The Knights scored again 1:45 later, when Emma Costa tapped in a cross from Theresa Stinson. Stinson later found the back of the net in the 36th minute, finishing a through ball from Maev Sullivan.
Coming off victories over NYU and Manhattanville, Mount Saint Mary scored three more times in the second half. Stinson scored her second goal of the afternoon in the 49th minute off a touch pass from Chrissy Cannella, while Gina Rivera scored in the 56th minute off a through ball from Ashley Hunter. Julie Roethel scored in the 71st minute, flicking in a header off a free kick from Brittany Bornstad.
Sarah Lawrence, coming off a win on Monday at Old Westbury, recorded six shots in the match, including a pair of attempts on frame from
Tiffany McBrayer and one from
Gaia Dennison.
