RECAP
All eight goals were scored by the Gryphons underclassmen. Dalrymple gave Sarah Lawrence a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute, finishing from outside the box off a feed from
Tiffany McBrayer. Dalrymple found the back of the net 3:12 later off a pass from classmate
Lily Halloway.
McBrayer, a 2018 Skyline All-Conference performer, scored her first goal of the year in the 26th minute, finishing a breakaway off a thru ball from
Haley Willibey.
Willibey scored her first collegiate goal in the 55th minute. Following a great feed by McBrayer, the first-year dribbled past the Cardinals back line before ripping a shot into the netting. Willibey scored again in the 63rd minute on a penalty kick.
Dalrymple completed the hat trick 1:27 later following a caused turnover in York territory. Classmate
Lainie Cadieux recorded her first collegiate score 1:29 later, blasting a shot from outside the box. Dalrymple scored once more in the 74th minute after corralling a ball from
Emily Anderson.
Dalrymple becomes the eighth Gryphon in program history to record a hat trick, while her four-goal performance is the second-most goals recorded in a single game in team history.
With the win, Sarah Lawrence improves to 5-2 all-time against the Cardinals, winning the last four contests. The Gryphons have outscored York 23-0 during that span.
Since taking over as head coach,
Maurizio Grillo, the 2018 Skyline Women's Soccer Coach of the Year, has watched his team excel offensively, scoring five or more goals nine times.
Sarah Lawrence controlled possession throughout the evening, finishing with a 22-7 margin in shots, including a 14-3 advantage in attempts on frame.
Madison Mertsch collected three saves in her season debut.
