Felix Massey scored 15 points on 11 kills and four service aces Monday night at Campbell Sports Center, as the Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to visiting St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn in Skyline Conference play. Scores by set were 25-14, 25-21 and 25-21.
Massey put down five kills apiece in the second and third sets, while sophomore
Aaron Ashery added four kills and a solo block to the Gryphons' cause. Massey passed eight digs, while first-year libero
Lance De Leoz added five from his back-row position.
St. Joseph's-Brooklyn hit .324 as a team on the night, including 11 kills and 10 digs from Ramizjon Khudoyorov. Dejon St. Rose-Cuffy registered four total blocks for the Bears.
A Massey kill sandwiched a pair of SJC errors midway through set two to give the hosts a 15-13 advantage, before the visitors later used a 9-2 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
