MSOC| Gryphons Play SJBK to 2-2 Draw

BROOKLYN - Simon Kopecky and Jason Ciron each scored the first goals of their collegiate careers as the Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer battled St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn to a 2-2 draw on Saturday night.

SJBK outshot the Gryphons 9-5 through the first 45 minutes of action. The teams went into the break even at zero.

All four of the game's goals came in the second half. Nearly three minutes after the intermission, the Bears got on the board. Kopecky knotted the match at one in the 65th minute. Julian Day had the assist.

At the 78:49 mark, St. Joe's Brooklyn found the back of the net again, taking a 2-1 edge. Peter Olszewski set up Ciron for the equalizer four minutes later. After 90 minutes, the teams were tied at two.

Rain was a factor in overtime, making it difficult for both offenses to get it going. The Gryphons fired off two shots in the second overtime period. Kian Silva made a save right before the final whistle.
