FARMINGDALE, N.Y. –
Pacqui Pascual scored a team-leading third and fourth goal, lifting the Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Old Westbury on Tuesday night.
Numbers
- Pascual's first goal was assisted by Peter Olszewski. Olszewski found Pascual about 35 yards out and the senior one-timed the ball into the back of the net.
- Pascual's second goal came via penalty kick and it gave the Gryphons their first lead of the night.
- Fernando Gonzalez scored his first collegiate goal. Olszewski was credited with his second assist of the match.
- Kian Silva made eight saves.
- SLC grabbed the victory despite being outshot 23-14.
How It Happened
Old Westbury was on the board first, netting a goal near the 21-minute mark of the game. Pascual's equalizer came in the 33rd minute. Less than three minutes later, the Gryphons were awarded a penalty kick. Pascual capitalized on the opportunity and SLC went into the break with a one-goal edge.
With exactly 50 minutes on the clock, Gonzalez added the insurance goal. The Panthers got one back in the 72nd minute, but solid defense and goalkeeping kept the score 3-2 until the final whistle.
