YONKERS, N.Y. –
Julian Day netted the first goal of the season for the Sarah Lawrence College men's soccer team as the Gryphons took down the John Jay College Bloodhounds 1-0 on Saturday night.
"That was a good performance from a young, talented group of players," said head coach
Evan Brandsdorfer. "We will enjoy this win tonight, but our focus needs to immediately turn to a good Springfield team on Tuesday. A great home field atmosphere and fantastic fan support really helped throughout this performance"

- Day's goal came off a beautifully placed free kick from just inside midfield off the foot of Fernando González in the 35th minute.
- Kian Silva got the nod in net, posting a shutout in his first career collegiate start. He recorded 7 saves.
- Five different Gryphons fired off a shot.
- Nate Davis and Henry Bethell anchored the back line to help keep the Bloodhounds scoreless.
