FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College women's tennis team faced an undefeated Pratt Institute team on Sunday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center, dropping a 9-0 decision.

SLC (1-6) put up a valiant effort, but the Cannoneers (7-0) are undefeated for a reason having had just one match this season decided by one team point with the rest by three or more, three of which ended in 9-0 sweeps.

Ellie O'Brian, Melody Valenza and Catherine Whitman each won an individual game before dropping their matches in the first, third and fourth flights, respectively.

The Gryphons return to Skyline Conference play when they host Manhattanville College on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The match may be between a pair in winless teams in the conference, but Sarah Lawrence still controls its own destiny toward the postseason tournament and can make the Skyline Championships by winning its final three conference matchups. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. in Bronxville.
