BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence College women's tennis team dropped its final non-conference matchup of the season in a narrow 5-4 loss to Lehman College on Thursday evening.

The Gryphons (2-7) fell behind 2-1 after the doubles actions before spliting the six singles flights against the Lightning (1-7).
The tandem of Simi Rao and Carrie Sun won their No.1 doubles flight for the third time in-a-row thanks to an easy 8-3 decision over Lehman's Viola Avdyli and Caroline Lopez.
SLC narrowly missed out on a second team point in the doubles action when Bella Biane and Ellie O'Brian narrowly lost to Effie Pang and Mary Grande 8-7 (5) at the No.2 doubles.4

Chloe Cohen easily dispatched of Pang 8-1 in the No.4 singles flight before SLC dropped the No.6 singles 8-2.
The final four singles flights (No.1, 2, 3 and 5) were all hotly contested matches that were decided by either an 8-5 or 8-6 tally.
Rao downed Avdyli 8-6 at the No.1 singles while Sun took care of Lopez 8-5 at the No.2 flight.
SLC, however, was not able to win either of flights No.3 or 6, taking 8-6 losses in each.
 
NEXT UP
The Gryphons will return to action in the Skyline Conference with their final road contest of the regular season when they travel to Newburgh, N.Y., to take on the home standing Mount Saint Mary College Knights. First serve is slated for 11 a.m.
