FLUSHNG, N.Y. – Another match, another win for the duo of Simi Rao and Carrie Sun in No.1 doubles action for the Sarah Lawrence Gryphons on Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, the opening victory was not enough to propel the Sarah Lawrence College women's tennis team as they dropped their season finale 6-3 to Yeshiva University.

Rao and Sun impressively won their final five doubles matches in-a-row after finding their groove together at about the midway point of the season. The duo cruised to an 8-2 victory over Yeshiva's Tali Kletnicki and Liana Friedman.

SLC (2-9, 1-5 Skyline) honored seniors Sun, Bella Baine, Isabella Hardman and Ellie O'Brian prior to the start of doubles play as part of Senior Day festivities at the beautiful USTA Tennis Center.

Yeshiva (5-3, 3-3 Skyline) earned its way into the Skyline Conference tournament as the four seed and will take on top-seeded Farmingdale State in the semifinals.

The Maccabees took a 2-1 lead after doubles play and used four wins in singles play to wrap up the match.

Rao and Sun, however, made their presence known in their respective singles matches to earn points for the Gryphons.

Rao handedly defeated Kletnicki 6-0, 6-0 in No.-1 singles action while Sun almost matched Rao's result with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Friedman.

Unfortunately for SLC, the bottom four singles flights did not go in favor of the Gryphons.
