BRONXVILLE, N.Y. –
Nate Davis of the Sarah Lawrence College men's volleyball recorded 40 kills, lifting the Gryphons to a 3-2 victory against Yeshiva University on Tuesday night.
SET 1
Yeshiva opened the first set with a 12-4 run. SLC fought back with a 7-0 in the middle of the set, narrowing the deficit to 3. The Macs outscored the Gryphons 3-1 the rest of the way, taking the set 25-20.
SET 2
With the set tied at five, Sarah Lawrence went on an 8-2 run, building a six-point advantage. Yeshiva did not go away, cutting the deficit to two. SLC led 18-16 before ripping off five unanswered points. The Gryphons won 25-17.
SET 3
SLC began the third set with a 6-1 run. Yeshiva narrowed the margin to three. From there, Sarah Lawrence went on another 6-1 run, going up 18-10. The Gryphons won the set 25-15.
SET 4
Down 16-14, Yeshiva went on a 6-1 run, going ahead 20-17. The Gryphons were down 24-19, then put together a 4-0 run , cutting the gap to one. Yeshiva recorded a kill for set-point, winning 25-23.
SET 5
SLC used the momentum of a 9-1 set-opening run to win the final set 15-12.
