RANDALL'S ISLAND – For the first time in program history, the Sarah Lawrence College women's soccer team drew a point against John Jay College. The Gryphons battled the Bloodhounds to a 1-1 tie on Tuesday night.
Possession went back-and-forth throughout the first half. Not many shots were let go between both teams.
Cat Faville hit the woodwork in the 35th minute.
Emma Floyd had a shot saved in the 38th minute. The teams went into the break even at zero.
John Jay broke through shortly after intermission, finding the back of the net in the 47th minute. The Gryphons upped the pressure, creating multiple scoring chances before evening the score at one in the 60th minute.
Samantha Lungren scored on a rebounded save that was shot by
Grace Carter. SLC controlled possession for the remainder of the contest, holding the Bloodhounds to zero shots.
Neither team could break through again, resulting in the draw.
