KINGS PARK, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence cross country teams both celebrated senior day on Saturday before taking part in the SJLI Invitational. The Gryphons honored six seniors for their contributions to the program.

Senior Leo Kalotihos turned in yet another impressive performance, finishing 14th overall in the men's 8k race with a time of 29:20.5. This was the senior's career-best time as well as a program-best for the 2023 season. Kalotihos has now led the Gryphons in every meet this year and will look to continue his success at the Skyline Championships later this month.

Isaac Gaber crossed the line second for the Gryphons, setting a personal-best by three whole seconds with a time of 34:23.9. Senior Lucas Murray also earned a top-100 finish, coming in 87th with a season-best 36:25.4 time that was a minute quicker than teammate Aiden Morel, running his first race of the season and taking home a top-100 finish. Zeke Ash was the fifth and final Gryphon to finish in the top-100, coming in exactly in the 100th spot. Ash, much like his teammates before him, set a personal-best in the meet, finishing the 8k course in a time of 38:32.4

Kate Hansberry was the next finisher for SLC, taking home a 63rd place finish and a time of 27:42.9. Senior Grace Cabral's time of  28:28.2 was over two whole minutes quicker than her previous 5k time this season, easily setting a personal-best. Stella Lissak made her 2023 debut for SLC, earning an 81st place finish in a time of 29:07.9 as the fourth Gryphon to complete the course. Seniors Alejandra Pasquel and Inga Specht finished back-to-back at 96th and 97th with times right around the 31-minute mark.
