Gryphons Host top-ranked Ramapo and St. Joseph's Long Island for Tri-Match

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Campbell Sports Center was the host of a Skyline men's volleyball tri-match on Saturday as Sarah Lawrence welcomed the Ramapo Roadrunners and St. Joseph's Long Island Golden Eagles, both of whom entered the day undefeated in conference play. The Gryphons took on the Roadrunners to begin the day, as the visitors took the match by a score of 3-0 before facing off in a five-set match against St. Joseph's that would see the Roadrunners fall in conference play for the first time this season. The third and final match of the day was between the Gryphons and Skyline-leading Golden Eagles as St. Joseph's would maintain their spotless conference record with a 3-0 victory.

As the Gryphons started out the day against Ramapo, the Roadrunners won three straight sets (25-10, 25-9, 25-11) as Jack DiGirolamo and Brendan Edwards combined for 19 kills. Felix Massey led the Gryphons with 9 kills while Lance De Leoz totaled six assists. Lukas Gates, Juan Paris and the aforementioned Massey all finished the match with six or more digs, Gates leading the group with seven.

The final match of the day saw the Gryphons take on the Golden Eagles who had just secured first place in the conference following their victory over Ramapo. The Golden Eagles did not let off the gas, securing 38 kills while winning three sets to none (25-11, 25-9. 25-10). The Gryphons were held to just seven kills despite two service aces from De Leoz and Ralph Calle-Schulz. Logan Meyer led the Golden Eagles with an impressive 12 kills to help guide St. Joseph to a sweep of the day.
