BRONX, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence men's soccer team fell in a hard-fought 5-4 contest against Mount Saint Vincent (UMSV) on Tuesday night. Despite a strong offensive showing, the Gryphons couldn't hold off a late surge by the Dolphins, who secured the victory in a high-scoring affair.

How It Happened
The Gryphons got on the board for the first time in the 17th minute when
Peter Miles netted his fifth goal of the season to tie the game 1-1. Later in the first half,
Jozef Kandrac struck an unassisted goal in the 40th minute, giving Sarah Lawrence a 2-1 lead. However, UMSV responded quickly, leveling the match just before halftime with a goal by Javier Trujillo, making it 2-2. The Dolphins regained the lead early in the second half, as Trujillo scored again in the 67th minute off an assist from Trevor Pegg. The Gryphons fought back with a crucial equalizer from
Nikos Diaz in the 69th minute, who later converted a penalty kick in the 81st minute to tie the match once again at 4-4 after another Trujillo goal put the Dolphins ahead. With momentum shifting back and forth, UMSV found a late winner in the 86th minute through Cesar Mendez, who scored his first goal of the season. The Gryphons pressed for another equalizer but couldn't find the back of the net as UMSV held on for the 5-4 win.
