Farmingdale State opened the scoring early, with Rachel McAuliff netting the first goal just 4 minutes and 43 seconds into the game. Assisted by Kayla Mendez, McAuliff slotted the ball into the low left corner from a cross near the 6-yard box. McAuliff continued to terrorize the Sarah Lawrence defense, scoring again in the 12th minute, this time off a rebound from the crossbar after an assist from Abigail Chest. The goal, a well-placed header into the high left corner, put the Rams up 2-0. Just five minutes later, in the 17th minute, Alyse Rivera extended the lead to 3-0 by converting a penalty kick. Rivera wasn't done yet, as she scored again in the 19th minute, this time unassisted, capitalizing on a blocked shot to drive the ball into the low left corner from 12 yards out.
The second half remained goalless, but Sarah Lawrence showed more resilience, tightening up their defense and preventing any further scoring from Farmingdale State. Despite creating a few chances of their own, including a late shot on target by Lily Matalus in the 90th minute, the Gryphons couldn't break through Farmingdale's defense. Kelsie Feingold, Farmingdale's goalkeeper, managed two saves to secure the shutout, while Sarah Lawrence's goalkeeper, Bella Vaca, made five saves to limit further damage in the first half.
