How it Happened
The Privateers took control early and never looked back, opening the scoring in the fourth minute when Chris Vazquez finished off a pass from Jack Young. Maritime continued to apply pressure throughout the first half, forcing multiple saves from Jonah Zalis before doubling the lead just before halftime on a penalty kick converted by Jude Callan to make it 2–0 at the break. The second half brought more of the same, as Maritime capitalized on its chances to pull away. In the 53rd minute, Jeferson Blanco extended the lead off a setup from Vazquez, then struck again nine minutes later to make it 4–0. Edward Flores Medina added a fifth in the 75th minute, sealing the result for the hosts. Despite the deficit, Sarah Lawrence continued to fight, with Peter Miles generating several of the team's best opportunities and Zalis recording multiple saves to limit further damage. SLC showed flashes of attacking rhythm in the final 15 minutes, earning a series of corners and shots from Asefa Thome and Ivan Pudelka, but couldn't find the back of the net.
