FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's tennis team fell to the Skyline-leading Farmingdale State Rams by a score of 7-0 on Friday. The Gryphons had some hard-fought matchups in both doubles and singles play, but the Rams swept the match, moving to 5-0 in conference play.
In doubles, Josephine Jackson and Caroline He battled at the top flight before falling 6-2, while Zoe Kovac and Viha Shah dropped a 6-0 decision at No. 2. Margaret Moon and Colleen Coughlin fought hard at No. 3 but came up short, 6-2, as Farmingdale secured the early doubles point.
The Rams carried their momentum into singles play. Jackson put together several long rallies but ultimately fell 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1. Shah dropped her match at No. 2 by a 6-0, 6-0 score, while Kovac and Moon fell 6-2, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-1, respectively. Coughlin's match at No. 5 ended early due to retirement, and Serafina Panuccio rounded out play with a competitive effort at No. 6 before falling 6-4, 6-2.
