10.18.25

KING'S PARK, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's cross country team finished Saturday's St. Joseph's Invitational with 91 points, good for second place and besting the seven other Skyline schools in attendance. Senior Perry Yun led all Skyline runners en route to a third-place finish as well, continuing a dominant campaign for the Gryphons.

The team finished only behind the Fashion Institute of Technology in the team scores, with the next Skyline school, Maritime, placing ninth with 217 points. The Gryphons had three top-20 runners, as senior Caitlin McCabe and sophomore Whitney Hall joined Yun in the top group of finishers. Yun's time of 21:31.2 was under a minute behind the race's leader and it was over five seconds quicker than the next Skyline finisher. McCabe became the second Gryphon to cross the finish line, doing so with a time of 22:08.4, good for 16th place. Hall finished shortly after McCabe, two spots and 15 seconds behind her teammate. In addition to strong runners at the top of the results, the depth of Sarah Lawrence helped the team to their second-place finish, as six runners finished in the top 35. Al Sinclair continued a strong senior campaign with a 26th-place run in 23:48.9, while sophomore Isabeela Moya followed shortly behind with a time of 24:01.1 that secured 28th place. Kallisti Milatou-Fakountou was the sixth Gryphon to cross the finish line with a time of 24:43.3 and Dahlia Shephard rounded out the team's scorers with a 56th-place finish and a time of 26:04.9. Despite not adding to the team's score, the Gryphons got strong runs from the rest of their runners as well. Haley Balka put together a strong run with a time of 26:58.9, just ahead of fellow sophomore Genevieve Clark, who finished 17 seconds later. Stella Lissak's time of 27:27.9 was another top-80 time for SLC while Ella Langford and Emery Brandhorst wrapped up the team's strong day on the trail with times of 27:37.1 and 28:22.9 respectively.
