PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's cross country team continued its steady progress with a balanced team performance, placing all five runners among the top 75 finishers in a competitive field. The Gryphons finished in ninth place, besting the squads from Old Westbury and Mount Saint Mary
Leading the Gryphons was junior Aiden Morel, who clocked in at 32:44.4 to take 51st overall, setting the pace for the team with a strong effort over the 8K course. Close behind was Ivo Duwin, who finished 56th with a time of 33:24.2, maintaining consistent splits throughout the race to anchor the Gryphons' middle pack. Duwin also walked away with the Skyline Men's Cross Country Elite 19 Award as well, given to the individual competing in each championship with the highest GPA. Noah Carey followed just two spots after Duwin, placing 58th in 33:48.8, showing endurance in the second half of the course. Thomas Matonti turned in another dependable performance for SLC, running 34:55.5 for 62nd place, while Gavin Wright capped the lineup in 72nd with a time of 36:02.3, rounding out the group's solid day of racing.
