How it Happened
The Gryphons were led by Yun, who turned in the program's highest-ever finish in the Skyline Championships, with a fourth-place time of 25:17.8. Following just under thirty seconds later would be McCabe, who toted a seventh-place finish to earn her second consecutive all-conference nod. The senior completed the course with a time of 25:44.4, over two minutes quicker than last year's finish at Bethpage State Park. Hall crossed the line next for SLC, giving the team its third top-ten finisher of the day. She crossed the line with a time of 25:52.7, finishing in ninth place overall in her first season with the Gryphons. A pair of Gryphons would finish in back-to-back spots, completing the group of scorers for the team.
Isabella Moya and
Al Sinclair finished in 20th and 21st place respectively, each completing the course in just under 19 minutes to give all five scorers for the Gryphons top-21 times. The second-place USMMA Mariners started off strong with finishers in first, second, eighth and 15th place, but the depth of the Gryphons would be too much as the final scorers for the Mariners would place 43rd and give the team 69 points compared to SLC's 61.
Kallisti Milatou-Fakountou finished with the 26th-best time of the day, completing the course in 29:32.9 before a pair of Gryphons in
Haley Balka and
Stella Lissak finished back-to-back with times of 31:32.3 and 31:24.9.
Genevieve Clark,
Ella Langford and
Emery Brandhorst rounded out the roster for the team on Sunday, with Clark and Langford crossing the finish line in under 33 minutes while Brandhorst did so in 33:50.0.
