BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's tennis team took victories up and down the lineup on Thursday as they defeated the Cardinals of York College. The Gryphons got contributions from first years through seniors to complete the 7-0 victory.
In doubles, Josephine Jackson and Viha Shah rolled to a 6–0 victory at the top spot, while Margaret Moon and Zoe Kovac matched the feat with a 6–0 win at No. 2. Caroline He and Hayley Needelman earned a win by forfeit at No. 3 to complete the doubles sweep and give Sarah Lawrence a 1–0 lead heading into singles.
From there, the Gryphons didn't let up. Jackson cruised to a 6–0, 6–0 shutout at No. 1 singles, while Shah and He each followed with identical 6–0, 6–0 victories at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. Annabelle Abruzzo closed out her match 8–0 at the No. 4 spot, and both Elena Valente and Needelman picked up wins by forfeit at Nos. 5 and 6 to finalize the sweep.
