HACKETTSTOWN, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence Equestrian Team put together a double-digit ribbon performance on Saturday, led by sophomore
Nyah Raposo who secured two blue ribbons en route to earning a spot in the IHSA Regionals this spring. Raposo joins teammate
Maeve Lamson as regional qualifiers for Sarah Lawrence.
Sarah Lawrence opened the weekend with a strong showing in Show #1, collecting six ribbons across the day.
Nyah Raposo led the way with a blue-ribbon ride in the Introductory Flat, while
Leena Mathiasen and
Summer Stammely secured back-to-back second- and third-place finishes in the Novice Flat to keep the Gryphons near the top of the leaderboard.
Tulsi Purushotham and
Mia Chamorro added fourth- and sixth-place results, respectively, in the Introductory Flat, and
Saffron Bessler closed out the opener with a sixth-place finish in the Novice Fences. The momentum carried into Show #2, where the Gryphons tallied nine additional ribbons. Raposo repeated her winning form with another first-place ride in the Introductory Flat, while
Mia Chamorro and
Tulsi Purushotham both earned top-six finishes in the division.
Saffron Bessler and
Sophia Zamuner each grabbed fourth-place results in the Limit Flat, with Bessler adding a fifth-place ribbon in the Limit Fences.
Maeve Lamson delivered a fourth-place finish in the Intermediate Fences, while Stammely and Talia Rostenthal capped the outing with fifth- and sixth-place placements in the Novice Flat as the team wrapped up a productive weekend in the ring.

The Gryphons will return to action for one final time this fall as they co-host Saturday's show with Vassar. The event will take place at the Crosswinds Equestrian Center in LaGrangeville, N.Y. as they team looks to wrap up the fall slate with another strong showing. The Gryphons will return to action this spring for the second half of their season, including the IHSA Regionals later in the semester.
