POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Sarah Lawrence women's cross country team opened its 2025 season on Saturday at Vassar College, racing against some of the top programs in the nation, including NYU and Vassar, who both consistently rank among the strongest teams in Division III.
Senior
Perry Yun led the Gryphons with a time of
13:14.2, earning a 28th-place finish in the competitive field. Classmate
Ali Xhafa followed close behind, finishing in
13:42.2 for 30th place, while fellow senior
Al Sinclair clocked in at
13:48.3 to secure 32 points for SLC. Sophomore
Whitney Hall crossed the line in
13:52.2 (33rd), just ahead of teammates
Isabella Moya (
14:33.8, 35th) and
Sadie De Beer (
14:34.1, 36th). Senior
Dahlia Shepherd turned in a time of
15:58.5 (39th), with sophomore
Haley Balka rounding out the Gryphons' efforts in
16:06.7.

The Gryphons continue their season next weekend, as the team returns to action at the Purchase College Invitational on Saturday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m. The team won the event last year, as Xhafa, de Beer and
Caitlin McCabe all earned top-ten individual finishes to help the Gryphons pace the eight-team field.
