BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Skyline conference announced its fourth weekly awards report on Monday afternoon, naming a pair of Gryphons as recipients of awards. From the women's tennis team, a player of the week, and from the women's cross country team, a rookie of the week.

Senior Zoe Kovac was named the Skyline's Women's Tennis Player of the Week after five wins last week, including a trio of singles victories. Kovac led the Gryphons to a pair of victories against John Jay and Brooklyn College this week as the team sits above .500 heading into October. Kovac won 6-0, 6-0 against John Jay before another straight-set victory against Yeshiva in the team's conference opener. The senior then put together a come-from-behind win against Brooklyn after dropping a close first set. In doubles play, Kovac teamed up with Viha Shah for a pair of wins, a dominant 6-0 defeat of the bloodhounds before another decisive win against the Bulldogs by a score of 6-2.

On the trail, it was Perry Yun who once again shined as the women's cross country team earned another top finish. The team finished third in Saturday's Fred Pavlich Invitational hosted by Bard College and led all Skyline teams in attendance. Yun was the leader among the SLC runners, finishing the 6K course with a time of 26:40.7. The time was the second-best for all Skyline runners and she was less than 10 seconds from a top-ten finish. Yun and the Gryphons will return to action on Sunday, September 28th as they take part in the Queensborough Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park.
